Welcome to the School Outreach Training Module! This module will introduce you to our highly renowned School Outreach program, as well as prepare you to become one of our super valuable vollies.
This module should take you approximately 30 minutes to complete.

In this video, Yizhou and Seven will explore the dynamics of the classroom while you are delivering SO workshops, and offer some handy tips of how to manage a classroom!

Provided below are a few extra tips and tricks to help you present and manage classroom behaviour.
Keep control of the class.
Ensure inclusion.
Don't have kids missing out because others are disruptive.
Ignore disruptive behaviours (e.g. shouting out in class repetitively).
Couples well with selective attention (e.g. "hands up to answer the question").
Pause while you are speaking.
Look at the student causing disruption.
Continue after the impact.
Make a motion to correct behaviour.
Use the "turning down volume" gesture.
Make eye contact.
Use the "hush" gesture.
Stand near the disruption.
Use phrases such as "Perhaps try..."
Pause the class with "eye's on me in 3, 2, 1" or "okay the next step is..."
Hand gestures.
Movement.
Energy.
