Welcome to the Maths Without Limits Tutor Portal! 

Maths Without Limits (MWL) is an online volunteer tutoring program which aims to provide mentoring and resources to VCE students in regional Victoria. As a volunteer tutor, each week you’ll conduct a short hour of tutoring over Zoom with the student allocated to you. Soon, you’ll have earned not only a wealth of soft skills, but also, a coveted Melbourne Plus Credential. We will be constantly updating this page with more resources, so be sure to check in regularly!

Ensure that you send the Student Reflection Form to your student and complete the Tutor Log Form. We recommend allocating 2 minutes before the session ends to fill in the forms and prepare for your next session together!

Before you can begin tutoring, you will need to have completed the key steps below:

1. Become an EWB Club Member! 

2. Apply for a Working With Children Check (WWCC)! (See below for details)

3. Make an account and Register your WWCC in Volaby, following all instructions.
   IMPORTANT: On the question "Choose a Program", please scroll down and select "Chapter: University of Melbourne", as otherwise your Volaby account will be invalid.

4. Complete the Online Training Module

5. Read the document: 'Guide for Volunteers: Online Education Programs' 

6. Complete the Tutor Sign Up Form!

8. Join the Discussion Board! (See below for details)

If you already have a Working With Children Check (WWCC), please skip this section.

Please follow the link below to apply for your WWCC, there is an in depth step-to-step guide on how to obtain your check on their website. Remember, you can apply for the FREE WWCC, as you don't need to pay for your check if you are volunteering. If you are having any issues with applying your WWCC, please feel free to contact us with your queries.

There will be some specific information you need to provide when signing up for a WWCC, whether you are submitting a new application or already have a WWCC. Please enter the following information below on your application:

Occupational Field: 44 Educational - state schools (all primary, secondary, technical and special schools)

Occupation Type: Volunteer

Once you have completed your online WWCC application, you will need to visit your nearest post office to complete your application. Once you have completed your WWCC application at the post office, your application will take a few weeks to be processed.  Once it has been accepted, you will receive an email with your WWCC number.

How to join the Discussion Board:

2. Press "Ask to join group". In the interest of privacy, you may leave "Link to my Google Account" unchecked, which hides your email address, and use a nickname instead of your real name. However, please include your Student ID in the "Reason for joining" box as only verified tutors will be allowed to join.
