Session #4: Deep Dive – Housing
The goals of this sessions was to explore our experiences around housing, affordability, and living conditions in Kent County, uplift ideas and stories from our community and refine goals around housing stability to develop 2 or more draft SMART goals.
In small groups, neighbors shared stories of housing instability, lack of access to resources, and housing conditions. Participants were asked:
“What makes it hard for people to stay housed or stay in Chestertown?”
Through collaborative discussion and visioning, the group identified major themes and began drafting SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, Time-bound) goals that would make housing in Kent County safe, affordable, and accessible to the community.

How does housing instability impact your sense of community, belonging, or safety?
Think about which community goals you want to prioritize:
What can we actually do together?
What services do we want to create and fund locally?
