The Running Start program is an option for students in the 11th and 12th grades to take classes at a Community College and earn college credits while simultaneously earning credits at High School. The courses are taught at the Community College by their faculty. Students can enroll either full or part-time. A part-time student would then continue to take classes at Mountain View and at Community College. To be considered full-time, a student would need to be enrolled in at least 15 credits each quarter. If the student would like to earn their Associates degree they will need to work with the Community College on a plan that would reach that goal. Students will need to be able to provide their own transportation to attend Community College. The Running Start Program pays for tuition, while books and fees are not included. The Enrollment Verification Form will need to be completed and returned to your counselor to be signed for Fall, Winter and Spring quarters.
