Dr. Moloney on Getting Her 'Dream Job':
Board Meeting to Announce Appointment:
Dr. Christine Moloney is the superintendent of Evergreen Public School. Originally hired in July 2024 as interim superintendent, she was named the permanent superintendent on March 18, 2025 by the Board of Directors after a seven-month search and interview process.
Since joining EPS, Dr. Moloney has worked to build productive relationships with students, families and staff. She took a frontline role in sharing information about the district’s two replacement levies, leading the way for both measures to be passed by voters in the February special election.
Prior to joining EPS, Dr. Moloney served as the superintendent for the Chehalis School District. She has held multiple positions in schools and districts, including teacher, assistant principal, principal, and chief academic officer. In addition to Chehalis, she has worked in the Puyallup, Bethel, and Franklin Pierce school districts.
Dr. Moloney earned a Bachelor of Arts in History and Earth Science from Pacific Lutheran University, and a Master of Educational Leadership and Administration, Doctor of Education, and Superintendent certification from City University of Seattle.
Dr. Moloney and her husband David are the parents of a daughter who is in college and a son who is a high school junior in EPS. They are dedicated dog owners with an abiding love for Irish Wolfhounds.

In this video, Dr. Moloney joins host Craig Birnbach. She discusses her work since becoming the permanent superintendent, including the challenges of the 2025-26 budget, as well as her excitement about upcoming high school graduations. We also meet Dr. Brian Fox, the Chief Academic Officer, who discusses his role in implementing the EPS Strategic Plan through the Teaching, Learning & Equity department.
Prioritize equity, inclusion and belonging by creating a culture within Evergreen Public Schools where all staff hold themselves accountable to assume positive intent, be kinder than necessary, create systems that serve, measure twice-cut once, and be culturally responsive leaders.
Implement equity based multi-tiered systems of support (academic, behavior, and social-emotional learning) across the district to support students' sense of belonging and academic success.
Achieve measurable student academic growth through the implementation of the EPS Instructional Leadership Plan.
Demonstrate fiscal responsibility by monitoring and making adjustments to the expected expenditures as necessary to stay within the approved 2025-26 district budget and by planning for the 2026-27 fiscal year.
Ensure “systems that serve” by formally evaluating existing systems for efficiencies and effectiveness.
