People in Evansville struggle in poverty, causing negative effects in their lives and those around them.
The Evansville Christian Life Center was formed over 30 years ago to help those struggling in poverty. When a nearly 100-year-old monastery building was given to Bethel Church in 1986, our work of restoring people from need to potential in Christ began.

The GAIN Initiative (formerly Circles®/Anti-Poverty) is a network designed to move our community out of poverty together. Its unique perspective is that relationships are the key to overcoming poverty. The GAIN Initiative connects people to people, bringing together participants and partners who work together to overcome poverty both individually and on a community level.
