EUSD and The Escondido Creek Conservancy are pleased to provide every 3rd grade student with an outdoor education experience aligned to NGSS and California's Environmental Principles and Concepts. Students will participate in teacher-led pre-lessons and a Conservancy-led classroom lesson to prepare their eyes and minds for their in-person fieldwork. After the fieldwork, students and teachers will participate in follow-up lessons and a final conservation project.
Additional Program Details and standards alignment can be found here.

The Habitats program aligns with the Escondido Union School District's Framework for the Future.
EUSD is committed to actualizing the unlimited potential of every learner. A diverse group of education partners has come together to help define what's possible for students, families, staff, and our community. We are excited to share that this group kicked off designing the Escondido Framework for the Future in September 2021 and will continue to work together through the 2023-2024 school year.
You can follow the journey and stay "in the know" through this website and be assured that our groups' work will:
Be outcome driven
Ensure diverse community perspectives
Include processes for meaningful participation
Be iterative, including multiple feedback loops
Push us to be future/forward-thinking
Anchor on the student experiences we aspire to achieve
Drive impact and decision-making
The Framework for the Future will provide a north star defining learner outcomes, learning experiences, and enabling conditions to inform decision-making and prioritization. Click the graphic to learn more!
