Mentor Tools

At the beginning of each year mentors we do a deep dive of the Program Standards to familiarize ourselves with the essential components of the program. We the use the Continuum of the Mentoring Practice to identify areas for growth and set  goals for the year.

Mentors recieve a copy of the The Art of Coaching, by Elena Aguilar as part of our book study. We discuss sections and pages throughout the year. Mentor learning also includes observation strategies and tips, information on adult learning theory, cultural proficiency and more.  NCC mentors continue to reflect and improve our listening and questioning skills. All of the documents can also be found the mentor folder in Google Drive.
