NCC Teacher Induction Program

LEA: Encinitas Union School District

North Coastal Consortium Teacher Reflection & Induction Program (NCC TRI) is a consortium of five elementary school districts consisting of Cardiff, Del Mar Union, Encinitas, Rancho Santa Fe, and Solana Beach. Teacher candidates in the Induction Program experience enhanced professional growth and development building upon their teacher preparation program by participating in a rich and thoughtful induction process. Teacher candidates engage in reflective conversations with experienced mentor coaches and track their own progress through the continuum of skills, knowledge, and abilities aligned to the California Standards for the Teaching Profession and state-adopted academic content standards.

Each teacher candidate is paired with a mentor within the first 30 days. The Individual Learning Plan is developed within the first 60 days using the CSTPs and the Continuum of Teacher Practice. Throughout the year, the teacher candidate and mentor use the ILP to reflect on growth and monitor ways the mentor and the induction program  can provide ongoing support to retain qualified educators.
