Olivia Garcia was SPHS DECA's inaugural President. During her term, she spearheaded the first SPHS Club Rush event, making a beautiful poster that attracted new members from all backgrounds. At her first ever event, the MLK Mini-Conference, she was SoCal Districts Conference, she was top 8 in Quick Serve Restaurant Management Role Play A, and Top 8 Quick Serve Restaurant Management Overall. Following her accomplishments from the mini-con, she helped lead the chapter through the chapter Campaigns, and eventually to ICDC in Orlando FL. There, she attended the Thrive Conference with Lena Devine. She now attends UCSD.
Lena Devine was SPHS DECA's inaugural Vice President. During her term, at the MLK Mini-Conference, she placed 2nd Overall in the Retail Merchandising Series, 3rd Place Retail Merchandising Series Role Play A, Top 8 Retail Merchandising Series Role Play B, and Top 8 Retail Merchandising Series Test. Just a few weeks later, at the SoCal Districts Competition, she placed 2nd Place for Interview A and 5th Place Overall in Retail Merchandising Series. Following her success at districts, she was an overall finalist in Retail Merchandising Series at State Competition. She now attends the University of Colorado Boulder.
Jacob Whitney was SPHS DECA's inaugural Vice President of Marketing. He was Chapter President for 2023–2024 at Del Lago Academy. He focused on growing business education and strategic leadership within his chapter while also serving as a key voice in the broader California DECA community. He placed 4th at the Southern California District Competition in Hotel and Lodging Management. At that conference, he also placed 1st in the Social Media Challenge. In addition to his competitive success at districts, he placed 4th overall at the State Competition, earning a spot to compete at ICDC. He was also a finalist in the DECA Protege Exams. There, he participated in the Goose Chase Event, earning second place. He was also recognized as an emerging leader, the chapter leader of the year, and the DECA Award of Excellence. He now attends UC Berkeley.
Misha Patel was SPHS DECA's inaugural Vice President of Careers. At her first competition, the MLK Mini-Conference, she placed top 8 in the Quick Serve Restaurant Management Role Play B, and top 8 Quick Serve Restaurant Management overall. Following her success there, she led the Los Angeles Fire's Donation Drive, where she and her team raised over 1000+ donations.
Alejandro Alzina Gomez was SPHS DECA's inaugural Vice President of Leadership. Alejandro, or Alex, helped lead many differenct community service events, such as the Kit Carson Clean Up! He communicated with students from all over North County San Diego to participate in the event.
Juan Garcia was SPHS DECA's inaugural Vice President of Finance. In Juans first SPHS DECA appearance, he earned 9th Place Overall in Quick Serve Restaurant Management at the SoCal District Competition. He raised the bar at state competition where he placed 3rd in Quick Serve Restaurant Management, earning SPHS DECA's first ever Glass Award, and moving to International Competition. Juan now attends John's Hopkins University
