Choose a Bank: Research and choose a bank that offers services suitable for international students. Some popular options include DBS, OCBC, UOB, and Standard Chartered.
Gather Required Documents^: Different banks may have slightly varying requirements, but generally, you will need the following documents:
Passport with 6 months' validity
Digital Student Pass issued by ICA*
Proof of Study and Residential Address in Singapore.
To provide proof of your residential address in Singapore, you can request an attestation letter from your respective program team. This letter will serve as official documentation to verify both your enrollment status and your current residential address.
If you prefer to use digital payment mode for everyday use, we suggest you to open a bank account that is participating in PayNow.
^International students can open bank account in Singapore with or without a Singpass. Please check with the banks for more details.
*DBS allows you to open bank account with In-Principle Approval (IPA) from ICA.

Choose a Mobile Service Provider: Research and choose a mobile service provider that offers plans and services suitable for your needs. Some popular providers in Singapore include Singtel, StarHub, and M1.
Visit a Service Center or Retail Outlet to select the Mobile Plan: Go to a physical location of the chosen mobile service provider. They will have staff available to assist you with the process.
*To complete formalities at the ICA building, you are required to provide a Singapore mobile number in order to receive a One-Time Password (OTP). We recommend that you get a Prepaid Singapore mobile number before your appointment at ICA.
