Agile Change Management

A new approach to change management

The techniques of classic change management are stretched to their limits when accompanying consequential changes, to integrate new business issues such as innovation, collaboration, agility and digital technologies.

By favouring an experience-based approach in the form of participatory workshops, agile change is an alternative to instrumental change management practices, and more suitable for smaller projects and for behavioural transformation.

The authors base their work on many recent developments in change management and significant experiments in large companies (EDF, Covéa, SNCF, Société Générale...).They offer a model and 10 key tools to deploy agile approaches to change.

Summary / The rupture: moving away from instrumental change management towards experience-based change management. The five paradigms of change management. The obsolescence of the principles of instrumental change management. The importance of experience. Has transformation become more important than change? The importance of digital technologies. What is digitisation? From data processing revolution to the digital revolution. Multiple and abundant digital projects. The digital company: a decentralised organisation permitted by changes in users’ habits. Digital change management: how to manage the roundabout methods of production of digital technologies. Digital change for digital transformation. Towards agile change management model; Agile methods in computer science. An agile change management model. An agile change management that gives a key role back to professions. The tools of agile change management. The tools of the “define” phase. The tools of the "experiment" phase.
