AI READINESS LEADERSHIP ROUNDTABLE - 5/19/26

Target Audience: Superintendents, Principals, and District Leaders

Generative AI is no longer a future consideration—it is already shaping classrooms, staff workflows, and student expectations. Across districts, leaders are responding in different ways: drafting guidelines, piloting tools, pausing adoption, or revisiting long-standing policies through a new lens.

This leadership roundtable is designed to create space for district administrators to share where they are, what they’re learning, and what questions remain as Gen AI becomes more visible in K–12 systems.

Using the K–12 Gen AI Readiness Checklist (V1.2) from the Council of the Great City Schools (CGCS) and CoSN as a common reference point, participants will engage in structured conversation around three focus areas:

Executive Strategy & Governance
Academic AI Literacy
Risk, Equity, and Policy Readiness

Rather than a “sit and get” session, this experience emphasizes peer learning, cross-district insight, and practical reflection—recognizing that no district is starting from the same place.

DEVELOPING GENERATIVE AI NORMS AND student GUIDELINES - 5/19

Target Audience: All Educators

Participants will discuss collaboratively developed guidelines for responsible and ethical AI use in education, focusing on both educators and students. This session will explore appropriate and prohibited AI applications, address key issues like academic integrity and privacy, and provide strategies for co-creating generative AI norms with students. Attendees will begin drafting actionable guidance aligned with district values and goals.
