This page provides principals with essential tools, guidance, and resources to support teachers in effectively utilizing HQSD as part of the evaluation process. Here, you’ll find materials to help you understand the required criteria for HQSD, how it can inform instruction, and its role in Ohio’s teacher evaluation system. Additional video resources offer insights for both administrators and teachers, including HQSD for content area teachers, options and ideas for specials teachers, and strategies for having meaningful data conversations.
This presentation focuses on the use of High Quality Student Data. Participants will review HQSD expectations in the OTES 2.0 rubric, discuss ways to keep track of the data, view a sample video of a data conversation between an evaluator and a teacher, and work through a scenario in a group to create a plan on how the teacher could use their HQSD to improve their performance and increase student learning.

This activity provides time for teachers and administrators to discover the differences between each performance level on the rubric. Three areas of the rubric are addressed: Uses of HQSD, Evidence of Student Learning, and Use of Assessments.
This resource helps both evaluators and teachers process the four required uses of HQSD as well as identifying possible evidence.
This protocol provides teachers and administrators clarity around each of the four uses of HQSD. Included are examples of how each use of HQSD is could be connected to a particular component on the rubric and includes guiding questions that teachers may be asked.
