Summer Playlist!

Let’s stay together through music!

This summer is going to be unlike any summer you have experienced before! We don’t know what type of restrictions there will be, and many events and festivals have been canceled. To spread some joy, let’s create a playlist that you can listen to throughout the summer that can remind you of your friends and school!

Step One: Watch Instructional Video.

Step Two: Think about a song that is SCHOOL APPROPRIATE you want to share with your friends.

Step Three: Complete the document on Google Classroom by Friday, May 29th.

Step Four: Listen to the playlist throughout summer and be happy! Have a great summer!

**I miss you all so much! I am so sad that this is how this year ended, but I have hope that things will get back to normal soon! I cannot wait to see you again! Have a wonderful summer! Love, Mrs. Jakubowski

Soundtrack of My Life Instructions

Step 1: Reflect on your life. Think of 5 defining moments in your lifetime. A defining moment could be when you won a competition, a family member’s death, the birth of a sibling, a vacation you loved, etc. Choose 5 of these defining moments in your life.

Step 2: On the Google Slides linked in the assignment section on Google Classroom, add a slide for each individual defining moment. List the events in sequential order according to your life. (Example: My birth, younger sibling born, started school, went to middle school, graduated from middle school.)

Step 3: Think about what songs might relate to your defining moments and why.

  • Things to think about when choosing songs.

    • Is there a song that reminds me of this event?

    • Is there a song that reminds me of the emotion I was feeling during this event?

    • Is there a song that talks about this event?

Step 4: Add the following information to each slide. (See Mrs. Jakubowski’s presentation for examples.) Each slide must contain this information in order to get a 4!

  • Event number and what the event is.

  • The name of the song you chose.

  • The link to your song 0R the video of your song on the slide.

  • One to two COMPLETE sentences on why this song fits your event.

Step 5: Add pictures of the actual event if you would like and if you have some. This step is not required but may help bring back memories if you look at the pictures of the event.

Step 6: Turn in your slides on Google Classroom by Thursday, May 21st!

Mental Health and Music Directions

This pandemic we are experiencing is foreign territory for many. This can be and is a traumatic experience for many people around the world. Then, on Google Classroom in the assignment called “Mental Health and Music”, please share a school-appropriate song (the title and youtube link) that you find benefits your mental health and helps you through this pandemic. Hopefully the songs you and your classmates shared can help the mental health of everyone right now.

Band-O Instructions

It’s like Bingo, just for band!

**Watch the instructional video for more detail!**

Over the next two weeks, you will be tasked with trying to complete the music bingo for band or BAND-O! On the bingo sheet, you will see boxes with different tasks for you to do. Each time you complete a task, you can highlight or cross off the square on Google Classroom. The goal is to try to check off a complete row going horizontally, vertically, or both. With each bingo you receive, your name will be put into a drawing for one of three prizes (Culver’s gift cards--yes, I will mail them to you if we don’t come back to school!)! The more bingos you get, the more chances you get of receiving a prize! Please put how many bingos you received in the private comments section of the assignment in Google Classroom by Friday, April 24th at 8pm.

Important details!

** There are two bingo boards listed. The first one is for people who have their instruments and the second one is for people who do not have their instruments.

**Links to the shared Google Drives are listed below.

**Some of the boxes require you to upload pictures into a shared Google Drive folder or a video to Flipgrid. In order to receive a bingo, you MUST submit your photo or video to either Google Classroom or Flipgrid. I will be checking this!

**Please label all files on to Google Classroom or Flipgrid with your name.

Example: Jacob Smith

**For the documents that are with another classmate, please list both of your names.

Only one person needs to submit the photo!

Example: Jacob Smith and Annie Hahn
