Scottish Showcase
The class gave wonderful performances of 500 Miles by The Proclaimers as part of the whole school Scottish Showcase. All the practising paid off and they should all be very proud of performing so well in front of a large audience.
We focused on angles and direction in Maths. We looked at the different types of angles and the sizes that each of them are. We also used what we learned about right and straight angles to help understand the points of the compass. Hopefully nobody will get lost if Google Maps isn't working.
Aboriginal Australian Art
As part of our mini-topic on Australia, we created dot paintings using the same technique as Aboriginal Australians. If you look closely enough, you should be able to see kangaroos, koalas, lizards, snakes, echidnas, turtles and sharks!
Everyone has worked in groups to create aerobics routines which they then taught to the rest of the class. There were a lot of people out of breath by the time every group had led the class in their routine!
Our first area of Maths in 2025 is weight. All the pupils have been busy reading scales, converting units between grams and kilograms and investigating the weight of objects around the classroom.
