In Writing just now, we have been working on recount texts. We wrote newspaper reports about Mr Stern, remembering some of the funny or helpful things he did for us at school as well as thinking about his assembly last week.
We enjoyed sharing our memories of someone who did so much for the school.
Mandarin
We had the first Mandarin lesson with our teacher Shona. She told us about herself and answered questions the class had for her.
We also learned about Chinese Characters, Pinyin and Tones to help with pronouncing vocabulary accurately.
Library Visit
June welcomed us into Eaglesham Library again. She talked about examples of sustainability that can be found in Eaglesham, as well as asking the pupils what sort of business they would start in the village if they could. She also helped them understand what is required to run a business, information that will be invaluable to the 5 or 6 cat cafes which may appear in Eaglesham in the future!
We use Number Talks to discuss the different strategies that we can use for solving calculations. A number of the class are confident when explaining the strategies they find works best for them.
We had a really interesting workshop with David who taught the class finger spelling and some of the history of British Sign Langauge. By the end of the worktop, we could ask someone their name, tell them our own names and understand some familiar words being spelled out.
