Primary 4.1 have been on a Minibeast Hunt ! We were trying to find as many different types of minibeasts in the school garden as we could. We found bees, spiders, moths , ladybirds, centipedes, woodlice, snails, slugs, crane flies and wasps. We discussed their habitats and we have been classifying them too.
We have been sorting creatures into Annelids, Molluscs, Insects, Arachnids, Myriapods and Crustaceans.
Out with our clipboards and information

We are designing rovers to send to Mars. Our rovers need big wheels to go over rough terrain, a camera for recording sound and pictures, a parachute to ensure a safe landing and a device to collect soil samples.
You can look at our fantastic ideas below . We are budding scientists and engineers ! It was also a lot of fun to work together with our classmates.
Hello everyone and welcome to the NCC Blog.
This term the P4s will be learning all about Our Body (science).
We will be conducting lots of investigations to learn all about our 5 senses and exploring the major organs of the body.
In Religious and moral education we will be learning about the 5Ks relating to Sikhism.
I will post on the blog so you can see the activities that your children are enjoying and participating in.
We have been learning about organs in our body and what they do. We have been looking about where our organs are located in our body. It was fun to place the organs in the correct place !
We used our sense of smell to try to guess how many different smells we could identify - we smelled 16 scents including cinnamon, rose, lemon, toothpaste and bubblegum. It was much harder than we expected !
We also used our sense of touch to try to identify objects by feeling them. You can see us feeling hard, soft, smooth , squishy, furry, lumpy and bumpy objects. We had sandpaper, avocado, plastic, wood, ribbon, wool, leather and all sorts of things !
