Work Experience (WEX)
Students who have a job or community volunteer position are eligible for Work Experience credits. Register for Work Experience 15, 25 or 35. Work Experience 35 offers students the unique opportunity to earn 10 high school credits at the 30-level, fulfilling the high school diploma requirements for two 30-level subjects. Students may apply a total of 15 work experience credits towards their high school diploma. (Neither Work Experience 15 nor Work Experience 25 is a prerequisite.)
RAP (Registered Apprenticeship Program)
Register as a RAP apprentice and get a head-start on your career. Your employer will give you an inside look at your chosen trade to help you decide if that trade is right for you. Work in the trade of your choice. As you work, you will earn:
Wages
High school credit (up to 40 credits)
On-the-job apprenticeship hours for a head-start toward journeyperson certification after high school
When you complete high school:
Your RAP apprenticeship ends
You are automatically registered as a regular apprentice
The on-the-job hours you earned while in RAP are applied to your apprenticeship program
