At Argyll Centre, we offer online learning opportunities for students in Grades 1- 6 who have an adult caregiver available to support their learning throughout each school day. Find out more below!
Synchronous and Asynchronous Online Learning for Grades 1-6
Live online lessons and activities delivered by the teacher in real-time over Google Meet.
Sessions take place throughout the regular school day (8:40 am to 3:10 pm).
Attendance is taken throughout the day.
A high level of adult caregiver support is needed.
New for 2025-2026 - Attendance at a one-hour, live online, teacher-led Google Meet is required each day. In addition, regular attendance is measured through consistent daily participation in learning activities and submission of assignments each week.
Caregivers use the materials provided in the Google Classroom to implement programming.
The highest level of caregiver support is required. Programming completely depends on adult support for the implementation of programming.
A high level of caregiver time and support is required.
An adult must be at home to supervise the student.

What caregiver support looks like for synchronous online programming:
Ensuring a distraction-free, organized and quiet workspace for learning.
Providing school supplies, appropriate technology and stable Wifi.
Ensuring daily attendance in online classes.
Directly supervising the child to ensure active participation in their learning.
Supporting the child in uploading and submitting assignments
Providing one-on-one support to the child (explaining directions for assignments, breaking down tasks if needed)
Implementing strategies to ensure that the child's support needs are met.
Providing emotional support.
Troubleshooting technology issues.

Creating consistent home routines and a schedule for the student to complete learning activities.
