What grade are you in at Argyll Centre? Can you share if you are learning online or self–paced, etc.?
I am currently in 12th grade learning mostly asynchronous or self-paced.
Have you ever taken a dual credit course or a Campus EPSB course?
No, this is My first time taking a dual credit course.
What drew you to register for and take the Early Learning and Child Care dual credit course this semester?
I had gotten an email on my school account talking about ways to make extra credit, and one of the options was Early Learning and Child Care, so I decided it would be a good opportunity to try the dual credit class out.
What interests you about Early Learning and Child Care?
I am very interested in creating relationships with youth and learning a better understanding of how to bond with them and ELCC shows how to create that understanding.
What about the course has been beneficial?
The learning aspect has been very insightful, but the credits for both high school, and post-secondary is very beneficial to helping me graduate.
What are your next steps after Grade 12?
My next steps after graduating is to go into Child and Youth Care so I can create a safer environment, while being a youth care worker, and sharing my culture, perspectives, and feelings from an indigenous point of view.
How do you think this dual credit course has helped you in terms of experience right now and your plans for the future?
This dual credit class has really helped lead the path on what I want to put my work into in the future. Originally I did not know if I wanted to be a zoologist or a child and youth care worker, and this class gave me an idea of what I really enjoy.
