- EPIC students must take the MAP test starting in Kindergarten through eleventh grade
- The MAP test monitors subject mastery and growth, using the RIT scale
- The MAP test can adequately predict how well a student will perform in California's yearly state tests, which are given to 3rd - 8th grade, and 11th grade students.
- You can use the MAP test results to guide instruction, remediate, and promote growth. MAP provides a list of standards that a student should work on, using the following classification:
Reinforce — For learning statements in the RIT band just below where a student scored, you could reinforce their learning, but they are likely to know these skills and concepts.
Develop — The learning statements in the RIT band where a student scored are what the student should be working on now.
Introduce — The learning statements in the RIT band just above where a student scored are potential skills and concepts you could introduce when the student is ready for more challenge.
Login to the NWEA site, and print your students' MAP report to provide remedial lessons, guide instruction, and achieve student growth.

Use DreamBox to achieve MAP score gains
EPIC students may be eligible for a free DreamBox account. Otherwise, each student must request an account through their learning fund. If at least one of the students on your roster is on DreamBox, you are eligible to create a Teacher account.
