Overview of Status of Analysis, Design, Fabrication, Tests, etc.
The Flow Splitter Design is machined, was assembled on Tuesday and tested on the SEM on Wednesday morning of last week.
Testing showed that the flow splitter design works better than expected, effectively discharging the sample without interfering backscatter electron beams
Currently we are making more flow splitters for the other SEM and a spare
Accomplishments from Previous Week
Machined and assembled the first flow splitter
Tested the flow splitter (final design) on SEM
Tested carbon fiber needle (sponsor’s existing design) on the same sample for comparison
