Overview of Status of Analysis, Design, Fabrication, Tests, etc.
Finalize shaft design for insertion tube
Building and testing of two new designs for angulation wires
Accomplishments from Previous Week
Design of shaft system
Printed a model for angulation wire design to be tested
Came up with two angulation wire control designs
Goals for Next Week (list names after each item). Use specific and measurable objectives.
Build shaft system to scale of the insertion tube (Matt)
Create CAD model of alternative design that has pulley system in control body (Mark, Gio)
3D print and test the prototype of the sliding sprocket design (Eric)
Sponsor Comments from Last Meeting and Actions Taken to Address these Comments (indicate date of comments and if via email or in person)
Determine if only a shaft can be used as a pulley mechanism to change the tension. To address this, a prototype of an approximately 6mm outer
Utilizing a pin index system for alignment during reattachment ("D"-shaped top of insertion tube)
Can now work within 7 mm diameter of insertion tube
The team will be brought to the Simlab for demonstrations
First create a hollow tube so other channels can be accommodated later
Suggested plan:
Make a hollow tube 7mm*
Make it maneuverable, detachable*
Fitting camera (Somal will take care of)
Vacuum
Instructor Comments from Last Meeting and Actions Taken to Address these Comments (indicate date of comments and if via email or in person)
Concern for other channels with pulley system within insertion tube (in person, 4/9)
Comments from Other Students in the Class (indicate date of comments and if via email or in person)
Have we received a bronchoscope device (in person, 4/9)
Risks and Areas of Concern
Accommodating the other channels (vacuum, light, camera)
Small diameter insertion tube may not fit the shaft, still testing
Resources or Information Required but not Available
Bronchoscope device
