Overview of Status of Analysis, Design, Fabrication, Tests, etc.

Analysis:

·         FMEA (Failure Modes and Effects Analysis) on all possible scenarios: done

·         tipping velocity analysis: done

·         analyze the loading on the back plate and determine strength: done

-tension in bolts: not yet done

-ensure metal does not tip or bend

-redo the design if it is unsafe

Welding/Machining

·         CAD of jig: not necessary according to Isaiah

·         include jig holes in our parts

·         try to put a hole in that yellow front part of the pallet truck

·         press fits dowel for precision

Risks and Areas of Concern

• • Structural:

    • Ensure the platform and legs are strong enough

    • Ensure the linkage and bearings inside linkage function properly under full loading: analysis

    • Operation:

    • Ensure tipping is not a possibility by reducing acceleration / top speed of the unit : analysis

    • Ensure all clearance dimensions are met

    • Ensure cabinet is strapped in and secured: testing

    • Ensure cabinet is not scratched / damaged by unit: design

Schedule

• • Machining done this week. Welding done next week. testing begins week 8

• • 4200 truck, 143 wheels,  500 hardware/extra purchases, 600 steel, 1200 waterjet cut. $5400 remaining.
