Traditional and new data sources for establishment statistics

Lisbon, Portugal, 20-22 September, 2023

The eight biennial European Establishment Statistics Workshop (EESW23) was devoted to furthering the understanding of topics in designing, collecting, analysing and using statistics about and for businesses and other organisational entities. Its programme can be found here. Hosted by Statistics Portugal, EESW23 continued the tradition of the workshop series, which have become a prime European opportunity for official statistics methodologists, academic researchers and private sector professionals in the fields of business, economic and other areas of establishment statistics to exchange experiences, share new methods and findings, learn from each other, and create opportunities for deeper collaboration.

Call for papers - closed

To submit a formal application for presentation of a paper/poster, please use the on-line registration form, with a deadline of April 7th, 2023. At the time of registering, please also send an abstract of max. 300 words - as an attachment in pdf format - to eesw[at]enbes.org, with the subject line the same as the abstract title. Decisions on acceptance will be made by the end of April 2023.

Short courses - registration closed

Adjacent to the workshop, on 19 September 2023 ENBES has organised two short courses, covering a selection of topics of interest to establishment statistics methodologists and practitioners, delivered by international experts in their field: 

New developments in business data collection methodology, by Chris Andrews, Ger Snijkers and Paulo Saraiva,

Quality of multisource statistics, by Arnout van Delden and Sander Scholtus,

Registration to the workshop - closed

To register for participation in the workshop without presenting, please use the same on-line registration form, however without indicating an intention to present. Please note that the number of participants is limited to 55, with priority given to presenting participants. The rest of the places will be distributed on the basis of the registration time stamp while ensuring variability of institutional background among the participants. Each participant is expected to cover her or his own travel and accommodation expenses. Registration to the workshop closed on 31 August, 2023.

EESW23 was held on September 20-22, 2023, preceded by a day of short courses, September 19, 2023.
