Retracing Geyer’s Retraced Steps of Holmes Map

Retrace Detective Geyer’s Steps by Drawing a Map.  Use the sections from “Property of HH Holmes” thru "Malice Aforethought" as your guide.  

Directions: Create a map of the area covered by Detective Geyer retracing Holmes & the Pitezel Children’s travels (starting with or after Fort Worth, Texas, or about the time the children separate from their mother).

Guidelines:

Use a full sheet of blank computer paper (or larger - poster?).

Draw a map with stops on the train. 

Trace Geyer’s steps in one color/line pattern.

Trace HH Holmes’ (Mudgett’s) steps in another color. 

Trace Georgina Yoke’s steps/travels.

Trace Carrie Pitezel’s steps (in so much detail as you can).

Trace the Pitezel childrens’ steps each in their own color, marking their end with a unique emblem and note.

Identify and post note(s) of important witnesses’ testimony/recollections.

List at least 10 cities. 

List all states travelled and neighboring borders.

Some Steps for You to Take:

1) List all the steps of each key character (Geyer, the Pitezels (each), Holmes/Mudgett, Georgina) 

2) Design a layout (map of all the locations - states, borders, cities,...)

3) Create a key with color schemes and designs for each separate party’s travels.
