Essay Types, which are also called Modes, are categories or models of essay styles. These basically consist of writing styles. Essays - really, any compositions - can infuse these essay types within, but when they do so, they become something of a hybrid of writing styles. In order to better understand, therefore identify, analyze, and strategically use these, you want to learn about the different categories and how each essay type works. Most of these are based upon critical thinking skills that you may already be familiar with. For an overview, you may see this, or other, sites online. Using one, or a variety, of these essay styles can help structure your essay logically and provide a clear line of reasoning.
