Ubuntu (pronounced oo-BOON-too) is a philosophy rooted in various Southern African languages, including Zulu, Xhosa, and SeSotho in South Africa, meaning “I am because we are.” It underscores the profound connection between individuals and their communities, celebrating the interdependence that makes collective progress possible.
Team Ubuntu consists of the program’s support teams who work both behind the scenes and alongside the interns, to ensure the success of the program through coordination, mentorship, and shared learning. Their work is essential in fostering collaboration, problem-solving, and cross-team support for both Ghana and Liberia and from within Canada.
