This project is an exploration of Ghanaian heritage, spirituality, and storytelling, viewed through the lens of cultural research and creative interpretation. Growing up, visual art has always been an important part of my life—it has been both a form of self-expression and a bridge to understanding the world around me. My father and I often bonded over our shared fascination with Ghanaian history, and this project allows me to merge that personal connection with my creative practice. Through examining Ghana’s rich traditions of folklore, proverbs, and spiritual symbolism, I hope to gain a deeper understanding of the values, wisdom, and philosophies that shape Ghanaian identity. Beyond cultural discovery, this project is also an opportunity to strengthen my creative discipline, expand my interpretive thinking, and connect more meaningfully with my roots. Ultimately, I aim to create work that not only reflects my own learning journey but also invites others to appreciate the depth and beauty of Ghanaian culture.
