Book Drive
This project combines storytelling, cultural learning, and community impact through a two-part initiative: a children’s book creation and a book drive to support literacy in rural Ghana.
The first part focuses on developing an original children’s book titled Kofi’s Playground, inspired by Ghanaian culture, everyday childhood experiences, and themes of emotional wellbeing. The book will include storytelling, simple mental health messaging, and interactive activities that encourage reflection, creativity, and confidence in children.
The second part is a book and stationery drive that mobilizes resources to support students in public basic schools. The long-term vision is to use proceeds from the book and storytelling campaign to sustainably fund the collection and distribution of educational materials.
This project is driven by the belief that access to stories shapes imagination, identity, and confidence. By combining creative expression with tangible support, the project aims to both inspire and equip children to see possibilities within themselves.

As a kid I grew up reading a lot. My mom used to read to me and my sister every night before we slept. Reading and listening to stories made an impact on my imagination and is the reason I am so creative today. I want to share and impact kids to see that within themselves through books and education.
The project is inspired by direct exposure to school environments in Ghana, where access to engaging, culturally relevant reading materials is limited.
I will:
Engage students through storytelling sessions
Speak with teachers about literacy gaps and learning needs
Observe how children interact with stories and creative activities
This ensures the book is not created in isolation but shaped by real context.

Creative writing for children
Cultural interpretation & adaptation
Facilitation (working with children)
Basic project design (book + drive + fundraising)
