Prepare

During the second week of the Launch Intensive, each participant will be invited to give a 10-minute presentation on the place God has called you and the vision God has given you.

Your presentation is an opportunity for you to share the vision God has given you about the transformation He wants to bring to the place and people among whom God is calling you to serve. It is also a time to share the specific goals you have for your internship/first term. As a group, we will then join together in prayer for your vision and goals.

Your presentation should be about 10 minutes long and include:

    • An overview of the place and people you will be serving among, including:
      • the history
      • demographics
      • dominant worldview/religion
      • cultural values
      • hopes and fears that are present in the culture
      • any other important facts about the place where you will be serving
    • What sense do you have of what God is already doing in that place and what He might want to do?
    • How do you sense God calling you to both embody and proclaim the Gospel in that place? Including:
      • What are key spiritual disciplines for you to stay connected to Jesus on assignment?
      • How do you see yourself learning culture and language?
      • How do you see yourself building relationships that could open doors for discipleship?
      • What social/cultural aspects could be built on to help people see and experience Jesus?
      • How do you think the Gospel and/or church might look different in that place than in your home culture?

Journal

Record some of your thoughts:

    • How does your assignment fit into God's heart of transformation?
    • How will you embody and share the Good News of Jesus on assignment?
