While studying Nietzsche she was inspired by his theory of eternal recurrence and how to value everyday life. She is passionate about the idea of incorporating joy into one’s daily life as a way to create personal meaning. Nietzsche believed his idea of an übermensch was truly the only way to find happiness and fulfillment in one’s life. However, in today’s world, it is wholly impossible to adhere to the specific practices that Nietzsche advocated for. If there has never been an übermensch because the definition is so rigid, are we benefiting from a purely hypothetical one? Sofia believes it is more valuable to take his general principles and find ways to integrate and adapt them into modern society.
