Solar System - Tutorial Version
This first project had me follow a tutorial from the textbook to create a basic solar system animation. I learned how to create and animate basic shapes, shade objects, and use Maya's hierarchy system.
Solar System - Creative Version
For this portion of the project, I really played around with planet size and staggering the planets to look nice for the viewer. Somehow, I ended up creating what I called the "Attack of the Pink Moons." By the end of the animation, the moons have engulfed all the planets hiding them from sight.
Main Changes
I changed the moons to be hot pink and had them engulf the planets for a full on moon invasion.
I spaced out the planets to end in a staggered, more aesthetically pleasing way (previously pictured). I also changed the orbits of some of the planets to rotate around the z-axis as well as the y-axis.
I added a more realistic background for my solar system to inhabit.
Additional Changes
Neptune's Moons
Saturn's Vertical Ring
Sun has a new color!
