In the beginning of the animations, the hexagons are expanded around the sphere.
As the animation progresses, the hexagons circle around the sphere around the Y-axis and expand less around the sphere.
At the end of the animation, the hexagons once again expand.
About the Animation
This animation was created with the help of the 5 part tutorial on the class's webpage. In addition to what was provided in that tutorial, I combined all the scripts into one, included a UI box for the number of hexagons, added lighting with the script, created the hexagons and sphere with the script, and added random colors with the script. Overall, this was a pretty straightforward project. The only issue I ended up running into was with the brightness of the point light. I followed the command that was needed to disconnect the light link for the sphere and the point light, but it is not as bright as in the tutorial's final product. I also rendered this animation. I have linked any additional sources other than the tutorial and the Autodesk API that I used in the script that I submitted,
