Q: Where can I download Zoom?

Click the link below to be taken to the Zoom download page. There are multiple downloads available. However, you are looking for the topmost option on the page which is titled Zoom Client for Meetings. Click the large blue button that says Download. Proceed through the installation process to get Zoom on your computer.

Q: How do I use Zoom through Germanna?

Log in to your MyGCC account from the Germanna Website. Once logged in you will see a Zoom tile. Click on the tile and your browser should automatically open your VCCS Zoom account in a new tab. Click on the Join button. Enter the meeting ID provided by the person hosting the Zoom meeting. You will be prompted to launch the Zoom application, accept this prompt and you will be brought into the meeting.

Q: How do I change my Zoom background?

Once you have the Zoom application open on your computer, look in the upper right-hand corner of the app. You will see a button with your first and last initial, click on it. Click on Settings. Click on Backgrounds and Filters. You will see several options for Virtual Backgrounds to choose from that will obscure the room around you and keep you in the frame for your Zoom meeting. If you choose to download alternative Virtual Background options, please keep them appropriate for use with other Professors, Faculty, and your fellow Students.
