Getting a prospective student through the application process is an important hurdle, but it also confronts the student with a whole new set of challenges. Entry refers to the stage where a student has completed the application and been admitted, but now needs to complete their onboarding process, and enroll in and successfully complete initial "gatekeeper" courses.
Decisions that a student makes during this phase of their journey can set them up for success early or create additional barriers that could extend their time to completion. Support, coaching, and advising is essential to make sure a student successfully completes all required onboarding tasks, is correctly placed into initial classes, and completes classes like introductory Math and English that allow them to advance further. Robust advising support helps make sure students are adjusting to their coursework and employing strategies to successfully complete their first classes.
Sessions identified as Entry will acquaint you with functional tech resources that support students who have already applied, but still need to complete their onboarding, initial enrollment, or first-semester courses.
