Connection is the initial stage when a prospective student "connects" with the college. It spans the time from when a prospect first learns of and becomes interested in attending a college, up until they act on this interest by completing an application.
At this stage, a student may not be certain what program they are interested in, what their career goals are, or even if college is a good fit for them. They may also have limited understanding of the process to enroll - how to apply, what the admissions requirements are, and what resources are available to help them.Â
The Connection stage, and the methods for working with prospects who are in that stage, can vary a great deal depending on a prospective student's background. Students may connect with your college in a variety of ways and may bring widely differing amounts of prior knowledge about the application and enrollment process. For example, the Connection stage for a graduating high schooler will be different than for an adult learner. A prospective student whose parents also attended college will likely connect different than a first-generation student.
Providing support and resource to all prospective students who express interest is crucial to converting that interest into application and enrollment. The workshops that address the Connection stage will provide you with information on how to leverage various functional tech tools such as Salesforce, Navigate360, SIS, and XAP to identify and assist prospective students through application submission.
