Approval
BRCC’s Aviation Maintenance Technology Distance Education program is fully approved by the Federal Aviation Administration.
Residence in Service Region
Space in the AMT Distance Learning Program is limited to 14 students, therefore some applicants may not be accepted even if the minimum requirements for admission are met. Students will be selected on a competitive basis.

Priority shall be given to qualified applicants who are:
Residence of the BRCC service area which includes: Harrisonburg, Staunton, Waynesboro, Augusta County, Rockingham County, and Highland County and then
Virginia residents not having access to an AMT program at their local Virginia community college and then
West Virginia and North Carolina residents.
In order to be considered a resident of the BRCC service region, applicants must have been domiciled continuously in the service region for the 12 months prior to the application deadline and must not be residents of the service region for the primary purpose of education.

Courses in black may be taken at your home or local community college.
Courses in red must be taken at the BRCC AMT facility at the Shenandoah Valley Regional Airport.
Distance students must complete MTH 103 Applied Technical Mathematics (or equivalent) during their first semester, if not previously completed.
