Become an AHA Instructor

To become an instructor in one of our offered disciplines, please follow these steps:

1. Maintain Current AHA Provider Status

   • Hold a current American Heart Association (AHA) provider status in the discipline you wish to teach.

2. Demonstrate Proficiency

   • Be proficient in all the skills relevant to that discipline.

3. Select Your Discipline

   • We currently offer instructor courses in the following disciplines:

     • ACLS Instructor (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)

     • BLS Instructor (Basic Life Support)

     • PALS Instructor (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)

4. Submit Instructor Candidate Application

   • Fully complete and submit the Instructor Candidate Application.

5. Complete the Instructor Essentials Course

   • Complete the Instructor Essentials Course for your chosen discipline, which includes:

     • An online portion.

     • A classroom/hands-on session.

6. Undergo Monitoring

   • Be monitored by an AHA Training Center Faculty (TCF) member (from our AHA Training Center) within six months of completing your Instructor Essentials Course.

   • Note: The AHA Training Center Coordinator (TCC) may require additional monitoring if needed.

7. Join Our Instructor Team

   • After completing your training and monitoring, you will officially join our AHA Training Center.
