Update #9
Dear MHS Students,
We had a blast at the Rolling Rally for seniors yesterday. It was so nice to see students and staff in person and it reminded us of why our community is so special. When times are tough- we come together to support one another.
As the school year winds down, please check in with your teachers and guidance counselor if you are concerned about not earning credit in any of your classes for Term 4 so we can put a plan in place this week. We are all here to support you and want to hear from you if you are struggling.
We want to acknowledge what happened to George Floyd and the protests that are going on around the country. No matter what your personal beliefs are, it's important that we all talk about racism in the US and in our own communities. Talk with your friends, family members, and teachers about racism and where you are seeing or not seeing it. Even just acknowledging and talking about it can make a difference.
Sincerely,
The MHS Counselors
Mrs. Worthley, Mrs. Mahoney, Mrs. Lodge, Mrs. Padden, Mr. Ormberg, & Mr. Becker

Experts say adopting a new regular schedule and helping others are effective ways to battle “quarantine fatigue” during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Consider these coping mechanisms:
Routines and schedules are helpful. If yours have been disrupted, try to find new ones.
Make personal time for yourself while also connecting with friends and family.
Try to allow time for physical exercise and maintaining your diet while staying away from less healthy vices.
Acknowledge and validate negative feelings.
Seek short-term rewards by setting manageable goals.
Practice self-care!
Find fun ways to connect with friends. Heard of Flat Stanley? The Guidance Counselors have been having fun with flat friends too!
