ABSTRACT
This study explores the articulation of Outcomes-Based Education (OBE) within classroom instruction by comparing the planned OBE curriculum with actual classroom practices. Utilizing a case study design, the research examines how fourteen college instructors from a university in Bulacan planned, monitored, and evaluated student learning. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews focusing on the instructors’ profiles, OBE training, curriculum development involvement, personal perceptions of OBE, and their strategies for implementing OBE in the classroom. The analysis highlighted four key components essential for effective OBE integration: clearly defined Course Intended Learning Outcomes (CILOs), cohesive course planning and design, active engagement through diverse instructional methods, and aligned assessment practices. Despite identifying best practices such as clear outcome articulation and active learning strategies, the study also uncovered challenges, including resource constraints and resistance to change. To address these challenges and enhance OBE implementation, several support systems are recommended, including Learning Outcomes Design Workshops, an Active Learning and Engagement Toolkit, an OBE Resource Support Center, and an Inclusive Teaching Resource Library. This study contributes to the understanding of OBE application in higher education and provides practical recommendations to improve teaching practices and student engagement.

ABSTRACT
The world today faces significant environmental challenges, defining the Anthropocene era, where human activities have a profound impact on Earth's climate and ecosystems. In response to the need for greater environmental sensitivity and awareness, this study examines four speculative narratives by contemporary Filipina authors. Through an ecocritical analysis of Age of Blight and The Drone Outside by Kristine Ong-Muslim, Naermyth by Karen Francisco, and Wounded Little Gods by Eliza Victoria, this study unearths ecocritical themes using Greg Garrard's Ecocriticism framework and a multiscalar approach. By analyzing intrinsic elements such as plots, characters, settings, and symbols, the study reveals overarching ecocritical patterns emerging from the data.

ABSTRACT
This study explores the innovative strategies adopted by quick service restaurants (QSRs) in the Province of Bulacan to navigate the operational challenges brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic. Employing a mixed-method approach, the research examines innovations in products, services, and physical operations, alongside their impacts on key business functions such as sales, marketing, and customer satisfaction. Data were gathered from interviews with QSR managers and surveys involving 30 loyal customers across top establishments, including Jollibee, McDonald’s, and Chowking. Findings reveal that QSRs have embraced technologies such as online food delivery, cashless transactions, and sanitation protocols to enhance operational efficiency and customer safety. These innovations significantly contributed to customer satisfaction, particularly in product quality, service friendliness, and compliance with health guidelines. Moreover, strategic promotions and pricing adaptations during the pandemic sustained customer loyalty and mitigated revenue losses. The study underscores the role of innovation in sustaining the QSR industry during crises and provides actionable insights for future pandemic-resilient strategies. By aligning operational innovations with customer needs, QSRs can maintain competitiveness and enhance resilience against disruptions.

ABSTRACT
This descriptive-correlational study involving 113 nurses in a private hospital in Iloilo, Philippines, investigated the relationship between technological competence and compassion in nursing. Validated questionnaires assessed nurses’ technological competence and compassionate care, acknowledging technology's growing role in healthcare quality. Most nurses exhibited high technological competence, though improvements were needed in emergency equipment use and troubleshooting. They also showed satisfactory compassion levels, but needed support for patient visitors' accommodation and financial issues. A positive correlation was found between technological competence and compassion, with higher technological competence linked to increased compassion in patient care. The study highlights that despite its technological focus, healthcare modernization does not lessen the importance of compassionate care. Both technological competence and compassion are crucial for delivering high-quality patient care. The findings suggest a need for continuous training to enhance both aspects among nursing functions.

ABSTRACT
The study used the Leadership Behavior Description Questionnaire (LBDQ) as a lens to examine leadership behavior at La Consolacion University Philippines. The LBDQ is a widely used instrument for assessing leadership styles through the lens of two core dimensions: the initiating structure (IS) and the consideration (C). The survey was conducted in SY 2024-2025 with 25 administrators who were asked to self-assess their leadership behavior. The survey results were organized and analyzed, leading to the development of an action plan, which may be recommended to them to reach a good balance between the dimensions. It was found that there is no significant difference between the self-ratings of the university administrators in terms of their consideration and initiating leadership behaviors. The study identified several key areas for development based on the least-rated indicators of both the consideration and initiation leadership behaviors that directly focus on task management and clarity. It is recommended that advanced training on strategic planning and innovation management be explored. This study's findings can inform administrators' professional development programs, ensuring they can negotiate the intricacies of contemporary education.

ABSTRACT

ABSTRACT
The Commission on Appointments (CA) plays a crucial role in ensuring that military appointments in the Philippines are based on merit and fitness rather than political considerations. This study examines CA deliberations from 1987 to 2022, analyzing how the commission has influenced military promotions and appointments. Despite the president’s broad powers, the CA serves as a check on executive decisions, sometimes confirming, rejecting, or bypassing nominees. The research highlights recurring issues, including favoritism towards Philippine Military Academy graduates, regional disparities in appointments, and the increasing presence of former military officials in civilian government roles. It also explores how political dynamics, presidential preferences, and legislative oversight shape these appointments. By analyzing CA journals, this study sheds light on the evolving relationship between civilian authorities and the military, revealing the long-term implications of military influence in governance. The findings contribute to discussions on institutional accountability and civil-military relations in the Philippines.
