Band of Pride

The BAND OF PRIDE is Louisiana Tech University's marching ensemble. The Band of Pride performs at all home football games and selected away games. The Band of Pride has long been hailed as the catalyst for fan support of the Bulldogs and Lady Techsters.

Membership in the Band of Pride is open to all Louisiana Tech University students by audition (click here for information). You do NOT need to be a music major to audition; in fact, the majority of the band's nearly 164 members are not music majors.

Members of the Band of Pride receive a financial service award for their participation in the ensemble throughout the fall and winter quarters.

Course Registration

The Band of Pride rehearses on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 4-6 PM. At Orientation, be sure to register for marching band using the course number of MUEN 271.

NOTE: It is best to register for this class first and fill in around the rehearsal time. Many conflicts can be avoided by looking for other sections of the same class during the first year. For example, there are many sections of ENGL 101 or ENGL 102 that meet outside of the marching rehearsal time or you could delay a course until the following quarter in order to march in the fall.

Students may arrive no more than 15 minutes after the start of rehearsal from classes that overlap. Exceptions may be made for class conflicts by contacting me directly at cph@latech.edu.

Fees

Members do not pay for housing or most meals during camp. NOTE: Spending money ($40-50) is good to have as there will be 2-3 meals ‘on your own’ or for other expenses.

The following are the expenses for the Band of Pride (credit card purchases can be made):
