A leadership profile is a comprehensive representation of an individual's leadership style, strengths, and experience. Here are the steps to write a leadership profile:
Gather information: Research the person you are writing about, including their background, education, and professional experience.
Define the purpose: Determine what you want to communicate about the person's leadership skills and style.
Write an introduction: Introduce the person and provide some context on why they are a noteworthy leader.
Describe the person's leadership style: Discuss the person's approach to leading others, including their communication style, decision-making process, and ability to motivate others. YOU MUST COMPARE/CONTRAST THIS STYLE WITH YOUR ORG LEADERSHIP LEARNING, i.e., the Leadership Triangle
Highlight key achievements: Discuss specific examples of the person's leadership successes, including any notable projects or initiatives they have led.
Focus on strengths: Identify the person's key strengths and how they have used them to achieve success as a leader.
Provide quotes and testimonials: Include comments from colleagues, employees, and other professionals who have worked with the person and can speak to their leadership abilities.
Conclude with future potential: Discuss the person's future potential as a leader and their plans for continuing to develop their skills and experience.
Edit and proofread: Review your writing for accuracy, clarity, and consistency, and make any necessary revisions before publishing or distributing the profile.
Past student examples: Some students have interviewed and analyzed real-world leaders they know. They examined the success of the leader and how their leadership philosophy aligned (or didn’t) with the concepts of the Organizational Leadership program.
