This week we were very pleased to be joined by school chaplain, Zoe, alongside Archie and Luke from St. Mary's church, to share with us the joys of the Harvest. We collected a great deal of food and essential items to share with the local food bank. Children were challenged to think about where food comes from and some took part in a blindfold challenge to "guess the food item" - pictures below. We also reflected on the following the verse from Galatians:
Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.
While in a religious sense this could mean doing good throughout our lives, I hope that children are able to reflect upon this as a quote also referring to the harvest as well as one that reflects the nature of progress in school and our personal lives, academically and socially. As we approach the end of the half term, staff here have reflected upon the growth that we've seen - after 8 weeks we are over a fifth of the way through the school year and much of what they have learnt now will hold them in good stead for the remainder of the year.
Following some parent feedback regarding dates in the diary being shared, you will see that there are important dates for the Autumn 2 included in this newsletter - while we endeavour to stick to these, there may be further dates added or altered as the term goes on.
I look forward to seeing many applications for school council on my desk next half term, as the children received their application forms today from their teachers. Some keen children have already filled theirs out over lunchtime - so if your child is smart, funny and kind and can take ideas and turn them into reality, I'd very much like to hear from them!
I hope you all have a good half term!

Well done to the boys who competed in and won (on goal difference!) the Inter-Primary football tournament earlier this term. Well done to Diego who got Player of the Tournament medal.
