Hi all, hope everyone is healthy.

Please watch the attached video on wood, Covers a lot of information on where the materials that most construction framing comes from, and how it is made. Answer the attached questions and turn them in by April 10th.

If you have not gotten around to the previous assignment in Homestyler, please do so, if you have and just didn't share it with me yet please do so as well. If you save the file as public should be able to just share the URL. Or you can export the floor plan and upload that as well.

Stay Safe and 6 Feet from everyone... don't just stare at screens all the time! If you end up building, fixing, designing, etc. anything during your time away... be sure to share your work!!

3/17-3/20 - Homestyler Housing Design

Go to https://www.homestyler.com/ and create an account.

Create a new project and go to "Help" in the top right corner and select "Interface Introduction" to get you started.

Design Your Own Home Project

You will draw the blueprints for a house with a minimum of the following specs:

 1 story 3 bedrooms* 2 bathrooms* Living Room* Breakfast Area* Kitchen* Dining Room* Entry* Laundry Room* Back Deck or Patio* Garage* Landscaping

You must also furnish your rooms.

This course offers the student an in depth study of Architecture mainly using residential applications. Students will cover local building codes and regulations, assemble a collection of various styles and designs including green construction, build scale models, research and write a report on a famous architect, perform a survey, develop a materials list, as well as secure estimates. Students will explore several drafting programs including, Revit and AutoCAD.
