Production Systems
(MFT 210)
This class is an advanced DDP class where students will design, draw, and build full-scale products. A research paper on a Famous Woodworker is required. Students will be instructed on large and small power tools and are required to pass safety tests in order to use the shop equipment. Project designs, cut lists and lumber lists will be produced by each student and will count as a large portion of the 1st quarter grade. The remainder of the year is spent in the wood shop producing a steam-bent chair, a heart table and a small novelty product on the CNC router. The teacher reserves the right to suspend student use of power tools as needed.
