Incoming 6th Grade Band Students

Dear Incoming 6th Grade Band Students and Families,

Welcome to the Elgin Intermediate School Band Program! We are thrilled to have you join our Wildcat Band family and begin what we know will be an exciting and rewarding musical journey.

My name is Ms. Alana Urbano, and I will be teaching alongside three outstanding members of the Elgin High School Band staff. Together, we are committed to providing a positive, engaging, and successful experience for every student. Whether you are picking up an instrument for the very first time or already have some musical experience, we are excited to help you grow as a musician, student, and individual.

Band is much more than learning notes and rhythms. It is an opportunity to develop teamwork, responsibility, discipline, confidence, and lifelong friendships. Throughout the year, you will learn new skills, participate in performances, and experience the joy of making music with your classmates. There will be challenges along the way, but there will also be many memorable moments and accomplishments that you can be proud of.

Our goal is to create an environment where every student feels welcomed, supported, and encouraged to reach their full potential. We believe that hard work, dedication, and a positive attitude lead to success, and we look forward to helping you discover all that you are capable of achieving.

As we prepare for the upcoming school year, we encourage you to come ready to learn, have fun, and give your very best effort each day. We are excited to meet each of you and begin building a strong foundation for your musical future.
