In order to maintain a high-quality band program, consistent attendance from all members is essential. While the Elgin HS Wildcat Band follows all school and district policies and procedures, the following guidelines outline the attendance expectations specific to the Elgin HS Wildcat Band. These guidelines also apply to all activities held outside the regular school day. Grades are based on punctuality and attendance.

Attendance Expectations

Members are expected to attend all rehearsals and performances. This includes, but is not limited to, outside-of-school rehearsals, class rehearsals, sectionals, masterclasses, clinics, pep rallies, concerts, contests, and meetings.

Families are strongly encouraged to avoid scheduling appointments during rehearsals and performances. Please refer to the Elgin HS Wildcat Marching Band Calendar for all scheduled rehearsal and performance dates and times.

Any request for excused absence from a rehearsal must be submitted through the designated form and approved in advance. Absence requests for rehearsals should be submitted at least one week prior, unless the absence is due to illness.

Please note that submitting an absence request does not guarantee approval or automatic excusal from rehearsals or performances.
