Crixell Shell has been involved with Minnesota Peace Building Leadership Institute since its beginnings. She was in the first STAR Strategies for Trauma Awareness and Resilience training. She has been one of the trainers and last year became the executive director of the organization. Crixell will introduce the organization, share what they do and explain how their work intersects with the trauma many of us feel about the climate crisis and our commitment to climate justice.

It's normal to feel anxious or overwhelmed by climate change, but can we turn those feelings into something productive? In an affirming talk, Lertzman discusses the emotional effects of climate change and offers insights on how psychology can help us discover both the creativity and resilience needed to act on environmental issues.
She shared her research focusing on how people respond to the climate crisis, and she is particularly interested in the psychological circumstances that motivate community-level climate action.

Speaker: Vasiliki Papanikolopoulus “The launch of Ridwell in Minneapolis”
Vasiliki is a Minnesotan with Greek-Cypriot roots who believes the circular economy is the only way forward. For the past couple of months she has been working with Ridwell, a West Coast-based social purpose organization, to launch their waste reduction pickup service in the Twin Cities. She has also founded Coimatan, a think tank for local retail that co-creates products and experiences with social, environmental, and economic impact in mind.
